My Quick & Easy Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

My Quick & Easy Breakfast Smoothie

Hi Reader,

You know that breakfast IS still the most important meal of the day. Running late, with no time to spare...grabbing “whatever” as you go out the door, or indulging with something from the Drive-Thru can lead to Diet Disaster.

Instead, I often suggest a breakfast smoothie. It's quick and easy to prepare, delicious and won’t leave you hungry an hour later!

Here's My Recipe for My Quick & Easy Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup frozen, sugar-free dark cherries or fruit of choice
  • 2/3 cup liquid. (I prefer unsweetened almond, or coconut milk)
  • 2 scoops protein powder. I use Terra’s Chocolate Whey.
  • 1 tbsp Healthy Fat (sugar free peanut butter is my choice) You could also use 1 tbsp of Irish butter, 1/2 an avocado, or 1 tbsp of flax seed oil instead. The healthy fat and protein will keep you satiated throughout the morning.
  • 1 tsp of Cocoa and a 1 tsp of Instant Coffee amp up the flavor. Cinnamon, cacao nibs or your favorite extract can also be added.

Directions:

Add all ingredients into your blender. Cover and slowly increase the speed for a delicious, frothy smoothie!

As I mentioned last time many Diet Disasters happen because we try to do too much, too soon. It is really important to have a plan in place that goes beyond what to eat and what not to eat. Start with your overall health. If you are stressed to the max and its showing up in odd ways, simply improving what you are eating can help. Stress adds pounds and makes dieting harder then it has to be. Often it shows up as Brain Fog. Do any of these sound familiar? You keep keep forgetting what you want...

I came across an interesting article in Scientific American recently. It talked about why, dieting often has a negative effect resulting in many women gaining even more weight then they lost. Apparently, It’s because of something the researchers called the “what the hell effect.” It seems, most women who want to turn their health around make the mistake of trying to do too much all at once: No more candy. No more carbs. Join a CrossFit class 6 times a week…and absolutely forget about that...

By now you may have noticed that the emails I have been sending are following a theme. They refer to dieting, but I hope you have also noticed that they are a little different. First, I mentioned that a successful diet is about more than just food choices. Successful weight loss depends on choosing a diet that aligns with how our mind works. Next came my recipe for a Quick and Easy Breakfast Smoothie. Were you surprised that it included "Healthy Fat"? Successful weight lLoss also depends on...
